Park Ji-hwan·Lee Jun-hyuk·Ahn Jae-hong Make Surprise Cameos in 'The King's Warden' ― Here Is Who They Play Park Ji-hwan·Lee Jun-hyuk·Ahn Jae-hong Make Surprise Cameos in 'The King's Warden' ― Here Is Who They Play 등록일2026.01.15 Actors Park Ji-hwan, Lee Jun-hyuk and Ahn Jae-hong pop up for special appearances in the historical drama film The King's Warden , which explores a little-told chapter tied to the deposed young monarch Danjong. Set in 1457 in Cheongnyeongpo, the film follows a village head who volunteers his town as an exile site to revive the local economy―and a young former king banished from the throne. Park Ji-hwan―who's shown serious range across The Roundup franchise and the comedy Handsome Guys ―plays the magistrate of Yeongwol County. Through Gwangcheon Village chief Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hae-jin), the magistrate receives reports on the daily life of exiled Lee Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon). With Park's signature mix of wry humor and gravitas, the magistrate is poised to both steer Yeongwol and inject the film with energy. Lee Jun-hyuk―fresh off a scene-stealing villain turn in The Roundup: No Way Out and a romantic lead in the series Love Scout ―cameos as Prince Geumseong. Already a talking point among fans, the prince moves to restore his nephew Lee Hong-wi to power, ratcheting up the stakes. In a new still, his steely gaze under armor hints at a resolute, battle-ready royal, stoking curiosity about Lee's take on the role. Ahn Jae-hong―who's earned praise for distinctive turns in HI-FIVE, Rebound and the hit series Mask Girl ―shows up as the chief of neighboring Noru Village. Already thriving as an official exile site, Noru's chief goes head-to-head with Eom Heung-do to win the designation again, forming an unpredictable, odd-couple rivalry. With Park, Lee and Ahn each bringing distinct flavors, their ensemble promises to fill in a compelling “blank page” of history with texture and spark. The King's Warden opens February 4, 2026, just ahead of Lunar New Year. (SBS Entertainment News | Kim Ji-hye)
Moon Chae-won Reveals Kwon Sang-woo Was Her First Celebrity Crush & He Is Just Grateful Moon Chae-won Reveals Kwon Sang-woo Was Her First Celebrity Crush & He Is Just Grateful 등록일2026.01.14 Kwon Sang-woo and Moon Chae-won wore their love of movies on their sleeves. On the January 13 episode of SBS's Whenever Possible , the two appeared together as special guests. Kwon shared that he and Moon had already caught a technical screening of their film Heartman . “We both walked out thrilled,” he said. “In my heart, it's already a hit.” He added, “I feel great about it, and we're confident. But audiences decide in the end, so we're going all-in on promo”―explaining why they'd dropped by the show. Now 50, Kwon reflected on aging with a laugh. “Turning 40 felt strangely empty for a minute. Hitting 50, though, I feel more open and less hung up on things,” he said. Still, he admitted the box office is one thing he does care about, hoping hard for a win. Yoo Yeon-seok chimed in, “Same here―I want my game to be a hit,” cracking up the table. The group decided who'd pick up the lunch tab by letting an AI make the call―and it cleanly chose Kwon. “Thanks for the meal, Sang-woo,” Yoo Jae-suk joked, as Kwon quipped back, “Hey, I'm the guy who buys Yoo Jae-suk dinner,” earning a grin from the host. Afterward, the foursome hit a gelato cafe―where Kwon paid again. Yoo Yeon-seok teased that Kwon was simply “built different.” Talking about working together, Moon smiled and said, “The first celebrity I ever had a crush on was Kwon Sang-woo.” Kwon, touched, replied, “Hearing that alone means a lot.” Yoo Jae-suk then noted he'd heard Kwon's recent catchphrase has been “Or not?”―a sign he's forever checking the room. Asked what his wife, actress Son Tae-young, says most, Kwon laughed: “She's an 'Anyway…' person,” explaining he's the cautious type while she's the one who wraps things up―classic married-life dynamics. When the table turned to Yoo Jae-suk, he admitted his wife, Na Kyung-eun, often asks, “Did you hear what I just said?” He joked that when he asks, “So do I actually get a choice here?” the inevitable answer is, “Do whatever you want,” which Kwon translated for the husbands' club: “That means get permission first,” sending everyone into stitches. A teaser for next week promised high energy as NMIXX's HAEWON and SULLYOON drop by as the newest “gap friends,” ready to run circles around the Yoo duo. (SBS Entertainment News | Kim Hyo-jung)
Ahn Hyo-seop & Arden Cho Spill 'KPop Demon Hunters' Secrets on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' Ahn Hyo-seop & Arden Cho Spill 'KPop Demon Hunters' Secrets on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' 등록일2026.01.14 Ahn Hyo-seop and Arden Cho, stars of Netflix's global smash KPop Demon Hunters , dropped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to celebrate the film's runaway success and share behind-the-scenes stories. Kicking things off, Fallon hyped the phenomenon: “'KPop Demon Hunters' is the most-watched movie in Netflix history,” he said, noting it has surpassed 500 million views and recently took home the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature ― sending the crowd into a frenzy. Despite co-starring, the pair revealed they barely crossed paths while making the film. “Everything was recorded separately, so we were almost never in the booth together,” Cho laughed. Ahn added, “This is actually only our second time meeting in person.” Fallon quipped, “That's the magic of movies.” Cho walked through her road to landing Rumi. “I didn't even audition for Rumi at first. Back in August 2022, I sent a quick voice memo for another role ― then crickets for a year. About 12 months later, I got an email asking me to callback for Rumi. I flew in from Korea, recorded for about an hour, and a month later we were off to the races.” Ahn recalled his first impression of the project. “The title alone felt wildly fresh ― K-pop and demon hunting together? But once I read the script, it was funny, heartfelt, and had a message,” he said, adding, “I've loved animation since I was a kid.” Naming Frozen as the animated film he watched the most growing up, Ahn joked, “It was basically my entire childhood… well, I was around twenty,” cracking up the studio. “Being part of an animated movie that could mean something to kids felt special,” he said. He also dug into his character, Jinu. “I never saw him as purely a demon. He's human ― someone who made the wrong choice at the wrong moment,” Ahn explained. “To move past a mistake, you have to own it, accept yourself, and keep going. That's what I wanted to convey.” Cho felt the global reach in a very personal way after release. “Linda Larkin ― the voice of Jasmine in 'Aladdin' ― called me out of the blue,” she shared. “We talked for two hours. She said my performance moved her, and we both cried. I'll never forget the day 'Jasmine' called me.” Both actors also went viral with their cover of the film's track Free. “We were in the middle of a big U.S. promo push and wanted to give something back to fans,” Ahn said. “To be honest, I kind of wanted to sing in the movie.” Fallon shot back, “Is that a sequel tease?” drawing laughs. “I loved the film and the music, and tons of my K-pop friends reached out,” Cho added. “The 'Free' cover with Cha Eun-woo was his last project before enlistment ― and it blew up.” To cap it off, the duo delivered a few of KPop Demon Hunters ' most quotable lines on-air, sending fans into a meltdown. 'Culinary Class Wars 2': 'Braise King' Choi Kang-rok Clinches the Win with Flavor & Heart 'Culinary Class Wars 2': 'Braise King' Choi Kang-rok Clinches the Win with Flavor & Heart 등록일2026.01.14 Chef Choi Kang-rok took the crown on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars 2 , walking away with 300 million won. If Season 1 was all about “Bibim Man” Edward Lee's stirring runner-up storyline, Season 2 played out like an unscripted saga for the self-dubbed “Braise Guy,” a.k.a. the “Serial Braiser.” In the finale, released Jan. 13 on Netflix, Choi ― the “white spoon” contender ― won with a soulful broth featuring sesame-studded mochi-like tofu (mochiridofu). The last challenge asked chefs to cook “a dish for myself,” flipping the script on pros who've spent their lives cooking for others. Choi channeled a patient low note of flavor, crafting mochiridofu with his own secret stock. It was a humble bowl, but it carried the weight of his career and a personal narrative that let you see the chef behind the dish. Asked why this was the dish he wanted to serve himself, Choi admitted, “I'm a braise guy.” He explained, “I once won a competition by leaning hard into braised dishes, so people started calling me the 'Braise Guy,' the 'Serial Braiser'―even 'Braise-ping.' Truth is, I'm not great at braising; I just acted like I was. I've studied and worked a lot, but there's been a lot of 'acting like it' in my life. I didn't want to braise for a dish that was supposed to be for me.” He added, “I wanted to give myself a little comfort. I'm hard on myself every day. I've never spent even 90 seconds making something just for me. In this little alternate world, I wanted to try that.” His honesty landed. Then came a cheeky twist: a pour of soju with the distinctive red cap ― a higher-proof nod in a world that's trending lighter. Choi served the judges a shot each, framing it as the working chef's drink of choice, equal parts “fuel” and “comfort.” “When people ask, 'What's your kick? What's your signature?' I don't really have one,” Choi said. “I'm not a special kind of chef. Most of us just do the unglamorous, repetitive work in the kitchen. I just got lucky and became 'the braise guy.'” Judge Ahn Sung-jae agreed: “Every chef goes through that phase. I did a lot of 'acting like it' too. This feels like an honest plate.” He downed the remaining broth in one go. The winner was decided by a unanimous call from both judges ― and Choi sealed it in a single dish. Chef Lee Ha-sung, known as the “Cooking Monster,” took runner-up with a blood sausage soup that paid tribute to memories with his father. In an unusual move, the finale skipped explicit tasting notes, but the judges' reactions and smiles told the story. After being named champion, Choi praised his rival: “If the theme hadn't been 'a dish for myself,' the Cooking Monster would've turned out something even more spectacular.” He continued, “I'm not someone who makes showy food. I'm one of the many cooks working hard in kitchens all over the country. I'll hold the judges' words close, value the connections I made here, and keep thinking deeply about food.” Culinary Class Wars 2 topped Season 1 in buzz and viewership, but early leaks revealing the finalists ― and even the winner ― spread online. Midseason, producers also caught flak for failing to blur a nametag showing the Cooking Monster's real name. Despite the spoilers, the finale still landed for many, with viewers calling Choi's redemption arc ― a returning challenger taking it all ― genuinely moving. (SBS Entertainment News | Kim Ji-hye)
