'My Name' Heads to Berlin: Could This Jeju 4·3 Film Set a New Milestone? 'My Name' Heads to Berlin: Could This Jeju 4·3 Film Set a New Milestone? 등록일2026.02.12 The film “My Name” celebrated its official invitation to the 76th Berlin International Film Festival's Forum section by dropping its first official trailer on the festival's site―instantly drawing global attention. “My Name” is a cross-generational mystery drama about an 18-year-old boy who wants to shed a name that doesn't feel like his, a mother who must protect that name at all costs, and a journey to uncover the promise made 50 years ago, hidden behind that name. Premiering on the Berlinale's official website, the trailer distills director Jeong Ji-young's sharp perspective and tight storytelling as it explores the tragic modern history of Jeju 4·3 through the motif of “a name,” heightening anticipation among prospective viewers. The Berlinale praised the film as “an astonishing act of breaking the silence left by a tragic history, with a meticulously built narrative and a powerful emotional resonance,” putting even more spotlight on the trailer's reveal. Director Jeong Ji-young and lead actors Yeom Hye-ran and Shin Woo-bin will kick off official activities on Feb. 12 by walking the red carpet at the Berlinale opening ceremony. On Feb. 13, they'll attend the world premiere screening, greeting audiences and taking part in a Q&&A. The Berlin schedule doubles as timely buzz ahead of the film's domestic release in April. Yeom Hye-ran, who reached global audiences through The Glory and Mask Girl, plays a mother guarding a 50-year secret―delivering a performance that swells from a quiet ripple into a tidal wave. Rising actor Shin Woo-bin plays Young-ok, an 18-year-old boy burdened by his feminine name, showcasing a special mother-son chemistry with Yeom. With his first leading role earning a Berlinale selection, Shin is making an unusual leap right from debut. Director Jeong and the cast will conduct back-to-back interviews with international and Korean media in Berlin to convey the film's weighty message. They're also set to attend a special screening for Koreans living abroad, aiming to share comfort and empathy in person. “My Name” opens in Korea this April. (SBS Entertainment News | Kim Ji-hye)
I-DLE Drops 'Mono' Mega-Crew Dance & Split-Screen Live Clip, Drawing Rave Reviews I-DLE Drops 'Mono' Mega-Crew Dance & Split-Screen Live Clip, Drawing Rave Reviews 등록일2026.02.12 The group I-DLE unveiled a one-of-a-kind live performance that zeroes in on the music itself. On the 11th, I-DLE dropped a split-screen live clip for their digital single “Mono (Feat. skaiwater)” via their official social channels. The video stands out with a “mono” sound design that matches the title. As each member takes her part, the sound shifts direction to create a more layered listening experience. The split-screen format spotlights the members' modern, elegant visuals with sharp styling. The result is a polished live clip that amplifies both audio and visual appeal―and it's earning strong praise. Before this, I-DLE dropped a performance video with a mega crew, delivering a massive-scale stage and a powerful visual catharsis. This time, they returned to the core―music―the starting point and essence of “Mono,” channeling the song's character as is. As their music-show run wraps, the group's standout live has fans even more hyped for their world tour. Released last month, “Mono (Feat. skaiwater)” earned three music-show wins, including a No. 1 on a terrestrial network. It marks I-DLE's first No. 1 on a terrestrial music show with a digital single. In its third week, the track is still holding the top spot on China's Tencent Music chart, while staying high on YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes―signaling a long-running hit. With their comeback promotions successfully wrapped, I-DLE are set to meet fans worldwide. They'll kick off their fourth world tour with “2026 I-DLE WORLD TOUR [Syncopation] IN SEOUL” on February 21-22 at KSPO DOME in Seoul. Expect a special memory-making set, with newly arranged hit songs and an unpredictable setlist and performances to match the tour's name. On March 7, they'll become the first K-pop girl group to perform at Taipei Dome. Tickets for the Taipei show sold out quickly after booking opened, underscoring the group's strong draw. After Seoul and Taipei, I-DLE will head to Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Yokohama, and Hong Kong, further cementing their status as a top-tier global girl group. Additional cities and dates will be announced later. Photo Credit = Cube Entertainment (SBS Entertainment News | Kang Kyung-youn)
Zo In-sung Says Theaters Need a Reason Now ― And 'HUMINT' Has One Zo In-sung Says Theaters Need a Reason Now ― And 'HUMINT' Has One 등록일2026.02.12 Actor Zo In-sung spotlighted what makes the theatrical film 'HUMINT' special on the big screen. At an interview for 'HUMINT' held in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, on the 11th, Zo was praised as a key player behind the movie's stylish action. He stayed humble: “Honestly, I don't know if I did action well or looked cool. Action is Director Ryoo Seung-wan's specialty, so I just did what he told me to do.” 'HUMINT' is a large-scale production with a budget of 23.5 billion won. It's aiming squarely at theaters over the Lunar New Year holiday and has drawn intense interest as a potential lifeline for Korea's sluggish film market. Audience hype is clear, with an opening-day reservation share nearing 40% and more than 180,000 pre-sold tickets. Zo, who leads the film, is well aware of the heat around 'HUMINT.' “These days, audiences need a reason to go to the theater,” he said. “Movies have to offer a cinematic experience you can't get on OTT or TV. I felt it watching the recent movie 'F1'―you need that dopamine hit. That's just my take.” “In that sense, I think 'HUMINT' can deliver some real dopamine for viewers,” he added. “It's satisfying in premium formats like IMAX.” Zo continued, “Fortunately, recent box office signs―from titles like 'Once We Were Us,' 'Choir of God,' and 'The King's Warden'―feel like early signals of spring. The question is how much bigger the overall pie gets compared to last year. Opening alongside 'HUMINT,' 'The King's Warden,' and 'Number One' could all help. I hope every film does well so it can mark a real spring for Korean theaters.” Set in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths sink into the icy sea, 'HUMINT' follows a clash of people with different agendas. It opens nationwide today (the 11th). (SBS Entertainment News | Kim Ji-hye)
Park Jung-min Apologizes After Last-Minute 'Life of Pi' Cancellation: I Have No Excuse Park Jung-min Apologizes After Last-Minute 'Life of Pi' Cancellation: I Have No Excuse 등록일2026.02.11 Actor Park Jung-min issued a direct apology after the controversy over the canceled Life of Pi performance. As he does not have a personal social media account, Park posted a lengthy apology on his agency's account on the 11th, writing, “I want to sincerely apologize to every audience member who came to last night's show.” The performance of Life of Pi featuring Park was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th at GS Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, but was canceled about five minutes before curtain due to lighting technology issues. The production asked for understanding, citing technical problems and safety concerns, and announced refunds of 110% of the ticket price for those who could not see the show. Many audience members, who had spent time and money to see Park's performance, expressed frustration over the last-minute notice. The production later added that the canceled performance will be restaged on the 16th with the same cast. It also stated it would provide a 10% refund to attendees of the rescheduled show and a 110% refund to those who choose not to attend. Alongside the production's compensation plan, Park shared his own apology. He explained, “Some lighting units malfunctioned, and the production decided to cancel, judging it would severely disrupt viewing. There were also safety concerns for the puppeteers who have to move inside the puppets.” Still, he stressed that no reason could make up for the shock fans felt: “It's our mistake, and nothing can ease that moment for you. Thinking of those who had to turn back at theater doors that never opened leaves me speechless. The precious time, energy, and care you gave us are a debt we can't repay.” Park added, “Before apologizing, I felt we needed to prepare the best possible alternative. An apology without a plan would be irresponsible.” He proposed adding a special performance, which the production accepted. “We needed time to coordinate with the venue, the many staff members involved, and the audience who came yesterday. We know a re-performance can't fully make up for your disappointment, but we hope it offers at least a small comfort.” He concluded, “I have no excuse for putting you through an unwanted experience. The cast and all staff will work even harder for the remaining shows. If you can, I hope to see you at the re-performance―we'll give it everything. On behalf of the team, I sincerely apologize. I'm sorry.” (SBS Entertainment News | Kang Sun-ae)
