The summer's biggest music festival, '2025 NOL Festival: SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer', has unveiled the final lineup for its festival stage 'UNIPOP'. Scheduled for July 26th (Sat) to 27th (Sun) at the KINTEX Exhibition Hall 1 in Ilsan, 'UNIPOP' is set up as a festival-type stage separate from the main performance, gathering anticipation from both domestic and international audiences. The first lineup revealed includes South Korea's leading co-ed rock band Cherry Filter, national band DAYBREAK known for numerous hits like 'Flower Road', 'Love Actually', Nam Woo-hyun, who has established himself as a solo singer-songwriter after 15 years with K-POP representative group INFINITE, the unique group LUCY known as a genius band, popular band TOUCHED with their intense sound, rising band YdBB Band singing about youth, and K-band scene's power rookie Dragon Pony. Adding to this rich lineup are the talented band NERD CONNECTION and the newcomer band KIK, raising the heat among music fans. Moreover, 'UNIPOP' will feature not only the spectacular live performances of top domestic bands but also special stages from this year's hit SBS dramas 'Love Scout', 'My Demon', 'The Haunted Palace', and more. The soundtrack STAGE, offering a unique emotional experience different from traditional music festivals, has also announced additional artist lineups, drawing keen attention. Joining the stage are YOARI, beloved for her dreamy and ethereal vocals, SamKim, who has become synonymous with Korean drama soundtracks with his powerful voice and lyrical sensibility, Kwon Jin-ah, known for her deep emotional delivery, artist Paul Blanco with his unique sensibility, 'K-Representative Balladeer' Na Yoon-kwon, Solar, who has established herself as a solo artist beyond MAMAMOO with her powerful vocals and unique presence, vocalist Paul Kim, sweeping the charts as the epitome of emotional ballads, and singer-songwriter Jin Hyo-jung, who has penned and composed songs for numerous artists including KyuHyun and Jung Yup. 'UNIPOP' is a portmanteau of Universe and K-POP, signifying a festival that encompasses all music genres including K-POP, promising to deliver a sound as hot and passionate as exploding 'POP' fireworks. In collaboration with the travel, leisure, and culture platform company Nol Universe, the 'Summer Festival' has expanded into a special stage 'Gayo Daejeon Summer UNIPOP', set to take place during the day on July 26th (Sat) to 27th (Sun) at KINTEX in Ilsan. [SBS연예뉴스 | 강선애 기자] 동방신기, 비 등 K-POP을 대표하는 12팀이 마카오에서 아시아 팬들에게 깊은 울림을 남겼다. 지난 18일(토) 마카오 더 베네시안 아레나(The Venetian ARENA)에서 열린 '슈퍼사운드 페스티벌 in 마카오'가 공연장을 가득 채운 1만여 명 관객의 뜨거운 함성과 함께 성공적인 행사를 마쳤다. Hwa Sa of K-pop girl group MAMAMOO shared her past experience of forcing herself to throw up as part of an extreme diet. On December 29 episode of SBS' special show Bodymentary, Hwa Sa opened up about her extreme dieting experience. During her trainee days, Hwa Sa revealed that she weighed herself every day at the practice room, saying, We had a weight tracking chart posted on the wall, which we had to submit during monthly evaluations. Most days, I would stop eating entirely. On some occasions, I even took laxatives from the pharmacy to empty my system before weighing myself. Hwa Sa also shared her struggles back then, If I overate once in a while, I would feel so guilty and angry, thinking, 'I've been under so much stress trying to lose this weight―why did I eat that?' I would break down in tears and force myself to throw up. Eventually, this led to anorexia. She reflected on her hardships, admitting, I started feeling nauseous all the time, and my salivary glands wouldn't stop overproducing. Anorexia and depression took hold of me, and I realized that my depressive state was affecting the people around me. That's when I thought, 'This isn't right.' Hwa Sa shared that when she felt anger and exhaustion over unattainable beauty standards despite her best efforts, she channeled those emotions into her song Maria. It was my way of expressing the unreachable standards of beauty and the pressure they bring through music, she explained. She added, I wanted to proudly show off the cool things that make me who I am, show the world who I really am. Finally, Hwa Sa offered words of encouragement to those struggling with dieting stress, saying, I'm so tired of the word 'weight.' I hope everyone can think about it more lightly. Solar of K-pop girl group shared how she felt when all the group members could not renew their contracts together. The video showed the host Lee Su-ji asking Solar, When MAMAMOO members didn't renew their contracts, did you all respect each other's decisions?
