K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE's Thai member MINNIE recounted the time she nearly joined SM Entertainment. On January 22, the 24th episode of Hyoyeon of girl group Girls' Generation's YouTube show Hyoyeon's Level Up was released, featuring MINNIE as a guest. During their conversation, Hyoyeon asked, Tell me an interesting story, to which MINNIE replied, I've never shared this anywhere before, and revealed, Before auditioning for Cube Entertainment, I actually auditioned for SM Entertainment. About a week or two later, they sent me a plane ticket and asked me to come to Korea, telling why she ultimately chose Cube Entertainment over SM Entertainment. Hyoyeon then mentioned, When JIHYO of TWICE was on this show, she told me about her connection with SM Entertainment as well. She actually got into SM Entertainment and trained briefly with us.
