그때가 조선 중기였을 거다. 한 사내가 있었다. 아니 사실은 있지 않았다. 왕이랍시고 양반이랍시고 꼴값을 떠는 작자들을 시원하게 혼내주는 멋진 사내가 백성들의 꿈속에 살고 있었다. 이 도적놈의 세상~ 지금부터 나, 일지매가 접수한다! 돈도 가지고 법도 가지고 무력도 가진 그들을 조롱하고 혼내던 그 사내 정체를 알 수 없기에 가진 자들이 잡을 수 없던 그 사내. 가난하고 힘없는 서민들이 희망을 꿈꾸게 한 그 사내. 이제 21세기가 되었고 문명이란 것이 삶을 편하게 해주었지만 여전히 비슷하게 억눌려있는 서민들의 꿈속에 그를 되살려보자 못된 놈들을 향해 통쾌한 복수를 해보자. 세상을 바꿀 수는 없을지라도 최소한 속은 후련하지 않을까.
